Design Process
Sketches + Schematic Designs
Guild Glass will offer consultation services to our clients at any stage of their design process. If an artist has a sketch, but no idea of how or if the design can be fabricated in glass, we can answer their questions and walk them through one or more possible fabrication processes. If an architect has a need for light transmission in an area of building design and is curious what is possible in this location, we can propose applications and installation methods for one or more of our stock products.
Design Development + Actualization
Once a client has contracted with us for consultation services, we can assist in the next level of actualization of the design. We can develop installation options of stock products for architects. We can produce color and texture samples of customizable products for an interior designer’s review and approval. We can advise artists on how a sculpture might be divided into fabricated parts and assembled on-site.
Specifications + Procurement
Due to the bespoke nature of our products, we will provide custom specifications for each project.
Procurement of unique products such as ours can be achieved through a number of standard contracting options – lump-sum allowances, owner’s product purchase contracts, as owner-furnished contractor-installed (OFCI) products, and as owner-furnished owner-installed (OFOI) products. We can provide products via the procurement method that best meets our client’s and their client’s needs.
Shop Drawings + Submittals
Architects, Landscape Architects, and Interior Designers may require shop drawings and other submittals during the construction administration phase of their projects. If so, we can produce accurate drawings for verification of the product quantity and installation method, and easy-to-review submittals for verification of the product type, size, color, and texture.
